As a candidate, Singleton is committed to transparency, accountability, and collaboration. Her priorities include:
• Improving Water Management Infrastructure: Researching more solutions to evolve stormwater drainage, sewer systems and flood control systems.
• Sustainable Growth and Development: Ensuring that improvements can be maintained long term without depleting resources or adversely affecting current and future residents.
• Community Engagement: Creating more opportunities for residents to voice their opinions, collaborate with local government, and shape the future of Richmond Hill.

Meet Lavetris Singleton
Lavetris Singleton is a resolute community leader and public servant. She was born in Savannah and spent her formative years there before moving to West Palm Beach. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University and a master’s in education from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, she is a graduate of Leadership Savannah and Leadership Bryan, programs that have further honed her leadership skills.
Singleton has amassed experience in local government, serving as a planning commissioner since 2020 and chairperson of the mayor’s advisory committee since 2019.
Professionally, Singleton has over 20 years of higher education administration experience. She is currently a Government Program Coordinator in the Aerospace industry.
Singleton’s ties to Richmond Hill did not begin in 2014 when she moved there. Her deep familial roots in the area have been a lifetime. Her father, Donald Singleton, a Vietnam War veteran, and long-time city advocate, has been a prominent figure in the community, was born and reared in Richmond Hill. Lavetris grew up visiting her grandparents in Richmond Hill in the Daniel Siding community. She remembers the dirt roads and traffic being nonexistent.
In February 2025, Singleton announced her candidacy for a seat on the Richmond Hill City Council. Her campaign focuses on improving water management infrastructure, promoting sustainable growth and development, and enhancing community engagement. She emphasizes the importance of developing innovative solutions for stormwater drainage, sewer systems, and flood control, ensuring that growth is sustainable and does not negatively impact residents, and increasing opportunities for residents to engage with local government.
Singleton’s commitment to her community and experience in local government and education position her as a strong advocate for Richmond Hill residents. She loves traveling, spending time with family and binge watching her favorite shows. Her greatest accomplishment is being Jackson’s mom.
